ARTIST STATEMENT
My sculptures explore the tension between structure and fluidity, permanence and transformation. Working primarily with reclaimed copper wire and tubing, I fabricate intricate, open forms that appear to breathe—simultaneously delicate and resilient.
Through an intuitive process of bending, weaving, and responding to the material’s inherent memory, the wire becomes both line and volume, drawing in space while suggesting motion—like currents, growth patterns, or fleeting gestures captured mid-transition. These forms often echo natural systems: cellular structures, flowing water, wind-shaped contours—yet they resist fixed interpretation, existing instead in a state of continual becoming.

BIO
Ross’s work carries a quiet tension, shaped by an ongoing interest in how structure and form can emerge from complexity and remain open, responsive. Her practice is grounded in decades of technical experience and has developed as a continuous body of work. Earlier work has evolved from more literal, organic references toward a language that is increasingly constructed and spatial. Explorations of entanglement and growth have given way to less representational work. This shift reflects a deepening interest in structure itself, not as something rigid, but as something that can remain flexible, responsive, and alive.
Her sculptures are held in private and corporate collections, with many collectors returning to the work as it evolves.
